Hello everybody, I am officially back after my break from writing this blog.
So what have I been up to?
Those of you who live in or near Southampton may know that we have had both Southampton and Eastleigh Pride, after which we are usually busy for a while.
We had a record number of enquiries and donations at Southampton Pride this year, which is fantastic, but at the same time means that I have been very busy with assessments since!
For the past five months we have had record numbers of member enquiries and we have been working steadily through these. I would like to mention here that we have a fantastic consultation team, and they have been doing a brilliant job of getting through these. I would argue that with the team now in place there has never been a better time to reach out and get help.
As for the new members, for some it has been the extra time to think during lockdown, for others it has been having to go back out into the world when things started to re-open. For some of our new family members they are reaching out to get help having seen someone slightly different to who they expected come out after lockdown.
The waiting lists are growing, and we’re going to need more volunteers going forward, but at the moment we’re feeling good about the future here at Chrysalis.
Speaking of more volunteers – could you spare us four hours per month of your time? If so, please click here for more information.
