The Southampton T&Q group who have just redone their group contract.

These are Laura’s words about the process. Laura is co-facilitator of the group:

At T&Q Southampton we have been doing our group contract, where everyone sits down and discusses what we want to have as our rules. As a new co-facilitator it was my first time being around for the writing of one and it was so helpful to get together as a group to agree how we want the group to run.

Before the session started the facilitators wrote up the structure of the sessions, in black at the bottom

Today I’d like to tell you two stories of people who would never know what an impact they had had on my life had not the streams of time brought us back together after over 20 years. The first a punk who came and sat down with a group of metallers in the park and showed us that it was OK to cross barriers, that it was OK to be different and that we had more in common than we thought. The second a person in a crowd at a gig who offered to put me on his shoulders, a common enough happenstance at that band’s

“Hi, my name is Laura. I was one of the co-founders of Chrysalis, I just wanted to say thank you for my Christmas card, it was wonderful to receive that, and also to thank you, Andi, and all the team for keeping Chrysalis so bright, so really wonderful.  I’ve just looked at the website first time for a long time and it looks great, and all the wonderful things you are doing.  More power to your elbow!

I thank you so very, very much for keeping something that was, and still is, dear to my heart going and alive and well,

Busy, busy, busy

Did you miss me? I’m so sorry. As is always the way I’ve got to the end of the year and haven’t used up all my annual leave so I’m taking the opportunity for a few sneaky Mondays and Fridays! Yep, that’s right, I was off last Monday. Chilling and reading and doing all those things that one does on a day off like: cleaning the bathroom; sorting out some old junk; tidying. You know, that relaxing kind of stuff.

Then it was flat out busy for the rest of the week and I had to trust that you, dear reader,

A new week and so many new things for this old cat to learn. I’m pretty sure that when I convinced the board to let us upgrade the website and to move to WordPress it was because it would be easier for me, but now I’m faced with so many different options. What category do I pick, how do I upload images, where will my post appear? Gosh so many questions, and all a day late too.
So what’s my pitiful excuse? Well not content with lots of projects for Chrysalis I’m also doing a spot of home decorating and if

Charitable Incorporated Organisation

On Wednesday 15th January Chrysalis was awarded Charitable Incorporated Organisation status and our registration number changes from 1116321 to 1187351

This means that we are no longer a simple charity but have a legal personality.

We, Chrysalis, can enter into contracts and own things and have responsibilities rather than all of this being on the shoulders of individual trustees.

We were recommended to make this transition, as part of our wider transition process, once we started employing staff.

The change has also enabled us to build on the changes to the constitution agreed upon at the AGM in January 2019 and to create a constitution
