Like many others, we have been missing Pride here at Chrysalis.
This evening we held a virtual pride for group members and volunteers. It Included a short speech from our CEO Andi and an LGBT+ quiz run by Robin, as well as a general hang out and chat.
We wanted to focus on a mostly celebratory tone, because whilst Pride is a protest, for us right now we needed a celebration – a celebration of people being able to be their authentic selves and be seen and heard as
Chrysalis will be writing to the MPs across Hampshire and Dorset, inviting them to speak to us to find out more about lived experiences, using our data and the knowledge we have from 15 years of supporting trans people, to find out more about what it is to be trans in the UK. You can do the same.

Happy Pride! That’s what I should be saying to you this morning. Another week into Pride month and we are here in lockdown trying to find ways to stay positive, keep our spirits up and believe that there will be a future.
This week I would like to talk about sports supporter raising money for Chrysalis including London Marathon runner Amy , Paeton and Chris and our trustee Scott as they cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats, our our incredible volunteers such as Olly providing one-to-one chats to keep people connected, and what I am involved with.
On Thursday 9th April we held the first Chrysalis Volunteer Virtual Coffee Morning, which was a great success. Tea bickies were a plenty and great conversation ranged from Unicycles to positive mental attitude.
We put the world to rights without mentioning C-19 once… Well maybe only slightly 🤫 (more…)
